The Truth

The truth will set you free ... but it might be difficult and disturbing at first.

Ever watched the classical movie 'The Matrix'? Well, this is your red pill moment. The moment where you can choose to live on in ignorance or choose to know the truth. The truth however will not be easy at first. The lies you have been told runs deep - to the deepest core and foundations of your faith.

Gospel of Thomas, Saying 2

Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all."

It will be disturbing because the foundations of your faith will start to give in. Some fundamental ideas about God, the Bible, and the church will be challenged - and when you really look at the facts, if you really look at what Jesus said, you will realize that you have been wrong about some or your core beliefs.

From the shock, confusion and disbelieve - something beautiful and powerful will be born. You will be free to truly discover God. You will develop a relationship with your Creator that will take your faith to a whole new level. Your world will change forever.

It is all about the teachings of Jesus

John 8:31-32

“... If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

We need to hold on to His teachings - not the Old Testament laws, not the Christian Religion, not the church, not tradition - His Teachings. To really understand and know the teachings of Jesus Christ, you have to look at the following Key Points:

1) The Bible is not the 'Word of God'

The Bible is not the 'Word of God' - Jesus and His teachings is the Word of God. The rest of the Bible is very important and God can speak to us through these scriptures - but not every single verse in the Bible is 'The Word of God'. This point is crucial as it affects everything else you believe.

2) It is not about 'church' or religion

Jesus was against organized religion. Jesus taught us to be spiritual and not religions (no, it is not the same thing). Spiritual but not religious means knowledge about God is not limited to the Bible.

3) Jesus did not teach us to uphold the Old Testament laws

During the sermon on the mount, Jesus did not say we should follow the law in the Old Testament - He said exactly the opposite. Read the article 'Jesus and the Law'.
